St. Patrick's Parrish has implemented the Spirit Quest program to mentor the kids on their path towards their Confirmation. I am a mentor for one of the groups of boys. Their chosen group name is Marin Mini-Followers II. We meet once a week for six weeks during each of the 3 seasons of the school year. The season is concluded with a Spirit Quest Mass and Pot Luck or Extravaganza where the Questors help out with the event.
This past season had it's challenges that were easily overcome. The SQ mass was amazing. All of the Questors in my group received at least one medal and some three. Some of the Questors voluteered to help me with greeting and ushering for the Mass. They were amazing. It was heart warming to see these young people eagerly participate. One of the Questors, Nicole, was our Lectern for the Mass. She read the scriptures with amazing grace and poise. Father Paul even commented on how wonderful she had done and invited her back any time.
Our next season starts on December 3rd. Yes, that is right, some of us will have to miss the Victoria Secret Fashion Show on TV but hey, isn't that what TiVo is for? The meeting starts at 7 PM and we will be going over the new schedule and activities for the upcoming season. I hope to see you all there.
